We the signed demand better consumer protection from airline providers.
With current established policy, airlines are allowed to hold consumer's money for ransom if an individual cancels a flight. Instead of offering a cash refund, consumers are forced into taking vouchers that are only redeemable with that airline. The only recourse is to go through a long drawn out process where the airline determines if a cash refund is justifiable, and in most terms of service cash refunds are only allowed in the most dire of cases.
What the public generally does not know is that most airlines overbook their flights and have no trouble filling empty seats.
People are what drive the airlines, and deserve the same protections that a normal service offers.
