Protect Communities: Compel the EPA to Rule Subtitle C on the Proposed Coal Ash Rule

Created by P.S. on June 19, 2013

The proposed Coal Ash Rule has been in limbo for almost 4 years while communities are exposed to leaking ash ponds, contaminated drinking water and needless increases in disease and death. We petition the Administration to compel their office of the Environmental Protection Agency to finalize a strong coal ash rule that utilizes the best science available to protect communities and local economies from coal ash toxins. We implore that the EPA strengthen the proposed Subtitle C rule to exclude dumping in floodplains, floodways, near bodies of water, into bodies of water and that high standards of monitoring and remediation are required.

The undersigned put our collective faith in the strength of the Admistration's will to protect and defend the people of this nation and our environment.
