Promote consumer choice and investigate possible antitrust violations in the television/media marketplace

Created by A.H. on April 27, 2015

Most American television consumers are only served by 2-3 television service providers. Content providers have been abusing this market situation for years, negotiating contracts (with NO public transparency) that hide the cost of their content from consumers & often require that their content is provided to all of the service provider's customers...thus raking in $$$$! Such practices significantly raise costs for consumers and unjustly subsidize these content providers, because consumers have few options. This also strengthens the position of market leaders to the detriment of new services, such as web-streaming live TV without cable service.

We DEMAND the Administration investigate such practices for violations of Antitrust law & take necessary measures to promote consumer choice!
