Protect consumer data by making it illegal to save and store it by any company

Created by V.R. on October 02, 2015

On October 1st 2015 it was reported that data from Experian (a credit reporting agency) was stolen. This latest data theft pertains to approximately 15 million people, including new applicants requiring a credit check for service or device financing from September 1, 2013 through September 16, 2015. Once a credit check is completed, it should be against the law for Experian or any other company to keep consumer data for thieves to steal.

I call upon our government to make keeping data, secured or otherwise, illegal. Data breaches have occurred with all the major companies and will continue. Security is a cat and mouse game. The best way to prevent this completely is to remove the data.
