Protect the Custodial Rights of Domestic Violence Victims and Survivors

Created by M.K. on January 31, 2013

All too often women are forced to leave their homes and go into hiding and into shelters beacuse of domestic violence. Most of these women, like myself, take nothing more than a bag and our children, if we are lucky. But then the reality sets in... We have to face the judges, law guardians, CPS workers, shelter directors and many more. These are people and agencies that are supposed to be trained and help.

Many of us are finding ourselves not just batteling to keep safe but also to keep our children. Many women, like myself, have found out than once you leave or even try to leave the State, there is no law or help protecting Our rights. False charges of neglect, being denied services, and being forced to live near our abuser or lose our babies is what I face and many others face.
