Protect endangered wildlife, and implement stricter punishments for trafficking.

Created by L.P. on February 18, 2013

Under the Endangered Species Act it is illegal to kill, harm or remove an endangered species from its natural habitat. Unfortunately animals are taken from their homes and killed for their body parts and served as rare delicacies. Once these animals are extinct they are lost forever. The loss of one species has negative effects on the food chain, leading to the loss of more species. We must stop the cycle.
According to dosomething.org there are about 2,270 species (both plant and animal) that are currently residing in U.S. territories. For poachers the risk is worth the reward, and that is why we must increase the severity of their punishments.
