If firefighters face layoffs due to budget cuts have federal funding avaiable to save these jobs until budgets are adjusted to cover these salaries. We all saw what firefighters are willing to sacrifice on 9/11/2001. They do this every day to protect and preserve our lives and property.Recently the City of Hialeah (Florida) approved reduction of their fire department by 40% to save money but at what cost? Unfortunately it will be at GREAT COST to the residents/tax payers of the City of Hialeah and worse the remaining firefighters that are being forced to work without adequate manpower! I will be happy to pay higher taxes to insure that there will be help available if I ever need to call 911.
