Protect the Grand Canyon From Irresponsible Mining and Clear-cutting

Created by A.A. on April 04, 2016

Arizona’s greater Grand Canyon region is an irreplaceable treasure, a dream for outdoor recreation enthusiasts, and a place of immense spiritual and cultural importance. People from across our country and around the world come to this place, one of the natural wonders of the world, and contribute millions of dollars to the local economy. But sitting just 6 miles from uranium mining, this region and its sacred and cultural treasures are threatened.

Permanently designating the Greater Grand Canyon Heritage National Monument would boost the local economy, protect historic sites, and conserve clean drinking water sources for local communities and wildlife.

I join thousands of Americans in urging you to designate this magnificent area as a national monument for our future generations.
