Jewish Law prohibits a Woman from remarrying unless she receives a Religious Bill Of Divorce or "Get" from Her Husband. The women cannot write such a bill of divorce herself and is therefore at Her Husbands mercy if she wants a divorce and to be able to remarry.
We the undersigned Americans petition the Administration to put forth a law making it illegal for a man to withhold a religious divorce or "Get" from his wife in order to blackmail and force her to Arbitrate the terms of a Divorce (including custody of the Children) in a Rabbinical Court of the husbands choosing.
We also petition that a law should be put forward making it illegal for a Man to use the threat of not giving his wife a Religious Divorce or "Get" in order to compel her to agree to any terms of a divorce whatsoever
