The government has been trying to reduce the federal deficit, but has been looking in the wrong area to reduce costs. They have been eyeing the military as a potential solution to the budget crisis, which would effect millions of soldiers and their families negatively. They have not been so willing to cut their own wages, benefits or retirement programs, have they? It is not fair to expect those who have already given so much to shoulder this added burden on their own. America is supposed to be about unity and freedom, but how can we really say that is what we all work for when we take advantage of those who have been so selfless in helping to provide it for us? Please do not repay our heroes for their sacrifice with a slap in the face and slash to their wallets.
