Citizen demand to support the MT. BALDY COMMUNITY in consideration of a San Gabriel Mountains national monument.
The Antiquities Act of 1906 grants the President authority to designate national monuments in order to protect “objects of historic or scientific interest.” While there are well-detailed "benefits" of national monuments, there are significant drawback for the Mt. Baldy Community and its visitors including property seizures, mismanagement of natural resources, and destruction of small business.
A national monument designation is an exclusive federal jurisdiction that under which the mountain community has no rights. Support local community and preserve our environment.
