Protect the national electric grid and other critical infrastructures from an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack.

An electromagnetic pulse resulting from a nuclear weapon detonated high in the atmosphere or from a massive solar flare could devastate our entire electrical grid and lead to the death of two-thirds of the American people within a year due to starvation and civil unrest. 20 billion dollars spent hardening our electrical grid could mitigate many of the effects of an EMP. We urgently petition the White House to issue an executive order to take measure to protect the electrical grid.
