President Obama has promised that 2014 will be a "Year of Action," the year when he stops "waiting on Congress to act" and takes his own executive actions to help the economy. Will he live up to his word?
An appeals court has just struck down the Net Neutrality rules that protect the Internet as we know it—a space for "innovation without permission." But abandoning Net Neutrality now would be tantamount to abandoning the small businesses that need the Internet to grow and create jobs.
The good news is that the rules were struck down on a technicality. To fix it, the President just needs to direct the FCC to reclassify the Internet as the "telecommunications service" that it is.
The President can fix this. Without Congress. Without the courts. And he can do it today. Mr. President: Act!
