The fact that child abuse and neglect even exists is absolutely ridiculous. We have an unbelievably high number of child-abuse related deaths daily - cases of children and babies being shaken, or just beaten to death. Yet, those found guilty of these crimes are only being sentenced to 5-10 years in prison, or other minimal sentences, because they are being convicted of involuntary manslaughter (or other similar charges that require a lesser sentence than life in prison). These laws must change, our children need protected. If one is convicted of death of child by child abuse, they deserve nothing less than the death penalty (or in the least, life in prison). It's 2013, and it's time to get up, stand up, and protect our children!
