We appreciate the Obama Administration focus to help reduce gun violence in America, and would like to call on the president to amend his plan to an agreeable and fair plan.
We support the majority of the president's plan but request that he remove the following:
- a ban on high-capacity magazines.
- a ban on military-style assault weapons
- and taking other common sense steps.
The reason for this request is:
-To ensure the safety and rights of law abiding gun owners.
-The current identifiers of assault weapons are related mostly to cosmetics features, and do not cause the firearm to function any differently
- Other common sense steps is to vague of a statement and only benefits the extreme views of one political party vs the other.
This can only be a success if done bipartisan.
