This petition is in favor of mandatory budget increases for our schools of America. Budget increases will allow our schools to increase school security. Security for our schools should be mandatory to protect our nation's children and allow them to learn in a safe environment. The budget should allow for metal detectors, properly locking doors, a security guard, and a no classroom entry policy by anyone other than a student or school employee (faculty and administrative staff). The budget should also allow for properly working fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Lastly, the budget increase should also support a guidance counselor or psychiatrist for every school in America. This is to ensure each child is assessed and has an adult readily available to listen in difficult times.
