Limiting access to guns will only effect law abiding citizens, any criminal would acquire guns illegally. Those who were more wary of committing crimes for fear of their victims ability to defend themselves would now have a free for all preying on the now defenseless citizens. A look at the results of gun control in other countries show just how ineffective gun bans are, with crime rates increasing after gun bans were inacted. My point is that anyone who wants to commit violent acts with firearms will, regardless of laws! I can just see a potential murder now "oh dang it! I can't own a gun... Well, I guess I'm not kIlling anyone today." The only thing gun control would accomplish is depriving the average American of their ability to defend themselves. Protect the 2nd amendment.
