We propose a sacred places bill; designating spaces where no government, public or private entity can extract natural resources, or develop, with the exception of development for scholarly ecological management and research purposes. With two forms of "sacred spaces."
1. A state and local municipalities be given the right to declare their own sacred spaces. These spaces can be declared within national parks as well as state and local parks, or newly dedicated locations.
2. Sacred Spaces of the First Nations will be protected and the First Nation treaties respected.
a. The First Nations will be able to decide when their selected sacred spaces are closed to the public, except to whom the nations have allowed admittance.
