There is a need to do something to try and correct this problem.
I propose putting security personnel every school. He or she would be responsible for both security and safety training. Just knowing that there is someone employed at schools whose sole responsibility is protecting our children will bring peace of mind to many parents. This could also deter potential attackers from carrying out these horrific acts of violence.
We already have the needed personnel to fill this role in our veterans. These heroes deserve to come home to a stable job as they adjust to the civilian world. They already have the training, discipline and history within the military. Training seminars can be given from the security personnel so to all teachers and students so they will be better prepared.
