Volunteer firefighters, EMTs, and Paramedics are often in fear of losing their regular full-time jobs when responding to disasters in their local communities. These individuals provide a valuable resource to our nations defense and resilience. Protect our volunteer first responders by passing a Volunteer Firefighter and EMS Personnel Job Protection Act. They deserve protection from dismissal while providing care and services similar to the protections afforded to our national guardsmen under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.
