It has been demonstrated through scientific study that pigs have near-human awareness, and as such, we feel it cruel that they be confined within the horrors of slaughterhouse conditions and killed for the purpose of consumption.
We hope the Obama administration will consider the suffering of animals with near-human awareness in such an environment and move for their protection and rights.
