Too many times police officers who are injured in the line of duty protecting the citizens of this country are terminated after it is determined that they are unable to return to work. There are no laws to protect them and uncaring municipalities quit paying them and toss these officers to the side. Many lose their homes and all possesions for just doing their job. Getting a disabilty pension can take years due to the government red tape. Police Officers who pay into a pension are also generally not eligible for social security disabilty benefits.
