Protect Small Businesses: VETO the Marketplace Fairness Act

Created by A.G. on May 01, 2013

The so-called Marketplace Fairness Act is a huge and unjust imposition on small and medium sized ecommerce businesses. The incredibly competative nature of internet retail forces small and medium businesses to spend incredibly large amounts of their income on advertising to stay afloat, which results in very narrow profit margins. Even businesses selling up to 20 million a year would find the expense of maintaining this tax program unmanageable, causing hundreds of small businesses to sink. Only retail giants like Amazon could afford such a move, eliminating hundreds of thousands of jobs in a weak economy. The government needs to have a better understanding of how small and medium size internet businesses operate before this bill is passed. Small businesses exist on the internet too!
