Students are constantly barraged with piles of challenging work that never seems to stop. Several students get only a few hours of sleep per night and usually finishing homework is not a question of "when can I do what I want?" but "when can I go to sleep?". School vacations are not even vacations by the definition of "a period of suspension of work, study, or other activity, usually used for rest, recreation, or travel; recess or holiday" (Dictionary.com)
Please limit the amount of work assigned over vacations so that over summer vacation only reading or minimal assignments are assigned and over school vacations throughout the year the amount of assigned work is limited to group and long-term projects that are easier to complete over a week without school getting in the way of planning.
