On October 10, 2013, Anna witnessed two other nursing students discussing confidential patient information in a public area. As a bit of background information, she had previously lived with one of these students during the summer of 2013. Although they originally planned to remain roommates, they had a falling out and are no longer friends. This particular student and several of her friends have subsequently treated her in a negative and hostile manner on numerous occasions, and she reported their behavior to staff. On this particular date, she informed the two students that they should not be undertaking such behavior. The nursing student with whom she previously lived became irrationally irate with her and started a brief verbal altercation. As a result, the dean defended the girls.
