The internet, as a dynamically evolving form of communication unlike anything in the history of mankind, should be protected against unnecessary regulation. Internet innovations, competition, and markets pop into and out of existence on a daily basis usually without the artificial machinations of government regulators. Every problem that has thus far appeared has been managed by the natural evolution of the internet itself, from IP address exhaustion to skyrocketing bandwidth demands. The problems described by advocates of net neutrality are almost purely hypothetical and have mitigating factors organically built into the nature of the internet. Handing control of the American internet market to a regulatory agency will lead to much worse unintended consequences.
