Protect US-born tech workers. Do not permit tech companies to hire H1B/greencard if a degree-holding US citizen applies.

Created by A.C. on November 20, 2014

Protect US tech workers.
Stop allowing US tech companies, and US branches of international companies, to hire H1B or green cards after US citizens holding tech degrees have applied. US Citizens with B.S., M.S., and even PhD have suffered for years of exclusion from jobs, and suffered crushing student-loan debt. Many of these people have detailed experience and also have the flexibility to adapt to new specializations. Companies who spend such time in indecision about hiring, are paying for valuable hours that could be used by hired citizens converging on the needs of their department, and there is no reason that an H1B or green card would do better than the citizen.
