The US labor force has seen a mass exodus of high wage, high skill and graduate jobs.
Congress has done little to discourage high skilled jobs from leaving our shores. Years of political rhetoric is all the labor force has been fitted with to fend off corporate greed.
US corporations lobby more incentives are needed to keep jobs from going overseas. Yet large US corporations paid a lower effective tax rate than the middle class people they employed. Thanks in part to federal tax breaks, corporations paid out just 12.1 percent of their 2011 profits in taxes, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
Record corporate profits continue, while outsourcing our skilled labor force increases each year.
We need a bipartisan congress to change how we tax corporations and protect US labor.
