In all tax and budget negotiations to reduce the federal deficit, any White House proposed budget must NOT:
Reduce or eliminate veteran's benefits, including physical and mental health care
Reduce the pay or benefits of active duty military personnel
Reduce or eliminate Social Security benefits for the elderly and disabled
Compromise the ability of the Affordable Care Act to perform its intended function of expanding health care accessibility to all Americans
Reduce or eliminate programs for food and housing assistance
While developing a balanced federal budget, the White House and President Obama have a responsibility to protect the social investments which are crucial to the health, safety, and well-being of all Americans. Any law opposing these ideals should be vetoed by the President.
