Protecting the freedom of press and protest.

In 2011, President Obama pledged to support non-violent protest of corrupt regimes in Iran, Syria, Egypt, and other countries. However, as a country, we have failed to lead by example. Therefore, I call on the president and all members of congress to stop the violent crackdowns on non-violent protesters within our own country, such as the Occupy movement. Further, we must destroy the so-called "free speech zones," which only exist to quarantine dissent and prevent lawmakers from knowing the actual opinions of the American public. Lastly, we must guarantee the freedom and protection of the press. With the media blackout and violent assault on the peaceful protesters of the Occupy Wall Street protest, we have become everything we dislike about China, Iran, North Korea, and others.
