Banning the use of plastic bags is one step closer to protecting our environment. Plastic bags are one of the leading causes (among other things) of ocean pollution. Our oceans are at high risk, but our health is at even higher risk. The chemicals found in plastics such as BPA's or Phthalates have damaging effects on our health, that includes loved ones, friends and strangers. Its not something to take lightly. This issue needs to be addressed and solved. We are Americans and our voices will be heard. America can lead the world to a safer future, as Americans its our virtue to lead. This petition is aimed at the industry leaders in this country, including the President himself, to reevaluate our current position on the use of plastic bags and how they are recycled.
