The current prediction by CNN Money is that 5 million jobs will be replaced by advancements in technology by the year 2020. In addition, according to news reports, this has already started with Foxconn, a supplier of Apple, forecasting the replacement of 60,000 workers in China. If the productivity of Foxconn improves drastically this most likely will be evidence for many US businesses.
My petition argues that because businesses will improve through advanced productivity, they should still be responsible for the employees they will cut in the United States and should have legislation requiring them to find replaced employees new work or, because labor is predicted to be replaced entirely by A.I., should have to pay all expenses for employees that are replaced to get a 4-year degree.
