provide in the ACA for students who are insured through their parents to sign an employer waiver so they can work 40 hrs

Created by M.B. on October 29, 2013

Under the Affordable Care Act, provide an option for students who are covered under their parents insurance to provide an employer waiver to offer insurance so that they can work 40 hours per week instead of only 29-1/2. By providing this waiver, employers would not have to offer insurance to those students. As it currently stands, students are not able to work more than 29-1/2 hours per week because their employers are required to offer them health insurance benefits if they work 30 or more hours. High school students and college students depend on being able to work one job at 40 hours per week; especially during winter breaks and summer breaks. As it stands now, they would have to get several jobs to accomplish this.
