Provide accurate information for comparing telecommunication plans by establishing information standards for such plans

Created by R.B. on July 22, 2013

Order the FCC to establish labeling and advertising standards telcom plans modeled after the nutritional labeling of foods.
Telecommunication providers advertise plans using words like UNLIMITED when in fact the plans actually include a wide range of limits and restrictions. Consumers are left to read through the fine print to discover the actual conditions under which the plans operate and have no effective means to compare plans between providers.
Standard information disclosure should include monthly cost, taxes, fees and surcharges. Data transfer limits/caps along with any other factor that will result in a reduction of service. Expected quality of service including historic system availability and representative data rates.
