Currently, Veterans have an average wait of 2 months to see a specialty doctor or physical therapist for care on injuries that could be prevented by immediate care. Many veterans suffer with pain and unnecessary difficulties or further damage because of a shortage of doctors. This lack of hiring of doctors to cover the care for current veterans and future veterans puts their health in jeopardy. Another problem arises if the doctor has other obligations and cancels, the veteran is placed at the end of the schedule. This causes undue problems in medication and care for veterans. I am writing this petition to have the administration hire more specialty and general care doctors for all the VAs across America. Veterans have the right to quality and timely care just as the private sector.
