We request the restructure the Veterans Choice Program to include all veterans & allow them their choice of mental/medical health providers. Veterans are the one group in the U.S. that does not have the freedom to choose their health care providers. All veterans deserve the choice of where to go & not be forced to go to the Veterans Health Administration. This has the ability to lighten the load on the VHA. This one change also has the ability to decrease the deaths related to the epidemic known as PTSD (AKA 22 a day). By allowing veterans access to their choice of health services the VCP will save and better thousands of lives. This adjustment to the VCP will allow all veterans, homeless or not, to receive the healthcare that they earned and deserve in a timely manner.
