provide for the American people a direct, not indirect, method by which they may influence the running of their country

Created by G.L. on August 29, 2013

During the last several years, decades possibly, the will of the people does not seem to be the will of our leaders. Often times we see Bills being passed that have very little public support, whereas Bills that do have public support do not get passed. I realize that the current method is one by proxy, where we encourage our representatives to speak for us. However that method of governance does not seem to be working as it was originally intended. Why within the constitution a direct method for the people to influence the direction of their government was never included confuses me to this day. We, as a people, should have the power to call for general votes. We, as a people, should have the power to directly repeal, create, or otherwise edit via a national general vote any Bill.
