Now that Nadal Hasan has been tried and convicted, we the people petition the United States government to do right by her military. Officially announce the classification of the Ft. Hood shooting as an act of domestic terrorism. Provide the victims and their families the appropriate medals and pay.
The initial excuse for not doing this was so as not to "muddy the water" before a verdict was rendered, despite the fact that this has clearly not been an issue for the administration in other instances. Hasan has been convicted there are no excuses for why the families of the dead, and the victims of this act should not receive the full military benefits due to them.
