Today, many bicyclists are pushing the boundaries on where they are allowed to ride on public roads. In order to relieve stress for drivers who have to constantly "look out," for bicyclists and other factors while driving, there should be separate roads provided at least seven feet away from all public roads, for people riding bikes. This will ensure safety for both drivers and bicyclists and it will reduce accidents. I say, that bicyclists should still have their rights as vehicles, just not on the motored vehicle road way. Bicycles and vehicles are clearly not the same, so why put them on the same road? A total of 677 pedal cyclists were killed in motor vehicle crashes in 2011. These tragic accidents can be prevented, by providing both vehicles and bicyclists with safe routes.
