To preserve America's current leadership in Science, Space and Technology, we'd appreciate the ability to add funding to NASA's goals.
We'd like to have Income Tax Returns (1040 forms) provide an option to pay an additional $1 tax directly for NASA's use. This would be similar to the Presidential Election Campaign option, but this would actually increase the tax paid by a dollar.
Wikipedia entries show NASA's funding to be about one-half of a percentage point of the Federal Budget (0.5%). Many find this to be woefully short and delays the benefits that come from these projects.
Even though full participation would only add a modest amount to NASA, it will show Americans true desire to promote Science, which will speed improvements for all people.
