It seems that one cannot read the news without seeing a new story about a brilliant young programmer who made a fortune by writing software. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, computer science jobs are to see an increase of 19% from 2010 to 2020. Unfortunately, many public schools provide no formal education in computer programming and students show no interest in learning what makes their social media sites tick. The Obama administration is missing out on an incredible opportunity to guarantee stable jobs for our children.
