The direct support and supply of Kurdish forces, both in the KRG region of Iraq and the Rojava region of Northern Syria, is a critical component in the fight against ISIL/DAESH. Clearly these are both complicated endeavors, but these groups cannot simply be discounted and labeled as sectarian groups with “global socio-political ambitions”. Together, they are the most affective ground components of the coalition campaign against the terror group ISIL/DAESH and they need our full support to maintain this capacity.
Mr. President, we encourage you to fully embrace your “fourth quarter” focus on moral imperatives and to research and rethink these issues. There are underlying injustices in the “Kurdish Question” that span many millennia. You are in a position to help redirect this history.
