provide disabled veterans families with a $500,000.00 term life insurance policy on their disabled veteran.

Created by G.M. on January 30, 2014

Currently disabled veterans can opt for term life insurance through the VA. The maximum benefit has not changed since 1947 and is set at $10,000.00 for the survivors to life on for the rest of their lives. Disabled veterans cannot qualify for affordable life insurance in the "free" market. The government should step in and update the VA's current system for a maximum of $500,000.00 coverage at a reasonable and affordable rate (or a highly subsidized rate). This should be addressed on an executive level as Congress refuses to act.
