The social security number is currently the sole source of identification for credit verification and other purposes. This number is stolen easily because it is only tied to the individual by name. Credit fraud costs the country millions of dollars each year. By providing each citizen with a control access card tied to a unique ID number and user created pin, it can be used in place of the social security number for identity verification and the single card can be used to securely link an individuals identity to databases, such as social security, state drivers licenses, voter ID, etc. Example: When purchasing a new cell phone service, instead of providing an easily stolen social security number, one would provide the ID card, input the user pin, and the data will be verified.
