Provide federal funding to support a full time police officer in every public school in all US states and territories.

Due to recent (Newtown) and past (Columbine) events it has become clear that a metal detector, cameras, and other security devices that are considered “preventative” in nature but are yet after the fact in our public schools must be reformed to protect our children. These are the most innocent and most unprotected citizens in our country. One of the main goals of our government is to protect its citizens and to provide a civil society. Columbine created lock-down procedures and gave reason for schools to outfit their campuses with security devices. Newtown should give schools the ability to provide a police officer at every school. I petition the government to provide funds and provide the legal backing to put a police officer at every school in all US states and territories.
