The criminals now have PII on all former and current federal employees. The government is only offering 18 months of identity theft protection and credit monitoring. Social security numbers, names, and birth dates NEVER change. The criminals could use the stolen information at any time for the rest of the victims life. It will take criminals well more than 18 months to get through all the data they have. Identity theft insurance AND credit monitoring should be provided FREE OF CHARGE to ALL affected employees FOR LIFE.
