Create a fund that people can use to pay off their share of the national debt, in a way that will be protected from government spending, similar to how social security is protected. Use these funds to pay off debt held by US banks. This should free up some money for the US economy, because businesses will be able to borrow again. Rich citizens should be able to pay off their share right away. The rest of us can make smaller contributions over time and track their progress against the most recently calculated share of the national debt.
Also propose the propagation of the belief that paying your bills with the equivalent of a credit card with a massive credit limit, is no way to manage your finances. Nor does it make you any less of a deadbeat nation.
