We the people of America, would like to petition the government to provide funding for the DNA testing of national origin of Black Americans; as a reparation and as a beginning to heal over 400 years of conditioning. The most beneficial aspect of life, is to know who we are and the majority of Black Americans have no clue. We constantly strive for the American Dream and we constantly try to find ways to adapt to a culture that was never our own. Due to the nature of our ancestor’s forced immigration through the slave trade; families, culture, language and names were ripped apart to be lost for the next 400 years. Slavery ended and reparations were promised (40 acres and a mule), but little, if any, former slaves received anything.
