Dr. Todd Rider of Draper Laboratories has developed a drug called DRACO that has been proven to cure several viral diseases in mice and been proven to be safe to human organ cells; including the heart, lungs, and liver. This drug could be the cure to a plethora of physical and emotionally devastating viral diseases such as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, HSV, etc. Funding for further research and clinical trials has been an issue, as with all research that may lead to a disease cure. Human lives are more valuable than pharmaceutical companies losing a little money on drugs that treat illnesses instead of curing them.
