According to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, in 2011 at least 943 females in Pakistan were killed to restore honor, almost one tenth of them being girls under the age of 18. Even more women are subjected to domestic violence or even attacked by acid every year. Many times these attacks are a result of a woman choosing a marital partner her family doesn't approve of, rejecting a marriage proposal, or being raped.
It is our job as human beings to not only protect the people we know but to work for a better and safer place for everyone. The US government has money allocated to foreign aid and the women in Pakistan today are in need of it. If we are able to donate money to foundations in Pakistan we can help the victims recover and provide education to stop future violence.
